We are still here at Panama city Marina with John and Jackie from EuFLORia and continue to monitor the weather, wind and wave situation for crossing the gulf. We have downloaded more apps this week that have to deal with all the weather situations. Another lazy morning with a few projects lined up and a trip to the grocery store.
I started soaking my raw peanuts yesterday and this morning I began roasting them. It took about an hour to get them from being soft. I did not get a sense of that much salt and will have to think about adding some heat next time I try this. Jackie had cajun boiled hers which were also quite yummy.
The guys headed out to get the car and then came back to pick us up. Jackie and I went to Publix to pick up a few items. Wow they left me in the store too long. I kept picking stuff up and still ended up forgetting a few items. Not that I really need more items to try and find a spot to put them on the boat. John had made me a great pantry that has four shelves and I have them packed. I now have started adding food in a cabinet in the master stateroom. I keep thinking I may be stranded and do not want to run out of food to prepare.
My glasses broke yesterday so we also had to find a optical store that could help with a small repair. We found American Eyeglasses and they were able to fix them in about 5 minutes. We stopped at Hunts Oyster Bar for lunch. We had another great meal and some of the best seafood cocktail sauce we have had. John bought a container for the fresh shrimp we have on the boat from our stay at Grand Mariner Marina in Mobile.

Cocktails on the back of EuFLORia this evening before calling it a day. We all plan on getting a good nights sleep and up early and heading East by 6:30 am. None of the projects that we talked about got done today and will now have to wait until we get a little further East. Thanks Jackie for the great pics at Hunt’s!

November 4, 2014 at 8:54 amWhen Sue and I were selling jellies and salsa at First Monday a guy started stopping at our booth and trading us boiled peanuts for jelly. We became friends over time. He makes a good living selling boiled peanuts at flea markets on the weekends. Enjoy your roasted peanuts.
Really loving your pictures.
